Magnolia Wellness & Psychology Practicum/ Internship Training Program
Objectives
The primary objectives of a practicum externship/internship at Magnolia Wellness is to provide direct client services in evaluation while also contributing to research and writing through content creation, training, and development. Interns will learn about, grow in their knowledge of, and provide services in ADHD, Autism, & Learning Disabilities through these modalities.

Training
Trainees are required to complete a one week training and orientation prior to beginning fellowship responsibilities. Hours devoted to training and orientation shall count toward the required hours from their school. Training topics shall but are not limited to the following:

Role Requirements & Expectations
A home computer or laptop with a strong internet connection is required for virtual appointments and report writing. Report writing templates, recommendations banks, resource lists, and referral spreadsheets are provided in a folder for easy access via google drive.
Trainees must provide an appropriate email address that is checked regularly for updates. They are expected to check for scheduling updates and transmission of any important information during business hours.
Trainees are responsible for and assumed to keep all confidential information, raw data, and client files safe and secure in accordance with HIPAA-compliance guidelines once it is removed from the premises of Magnolia Wellness & Psychology.
If providing evaluation services on site, trainees must arrive on-site at 104 Bombay Lane, Suite B. Roswell, GA 30076 or at any of our contract partnership sites at least 30 minutes prior to their first appointment in order to gather assessment materials and ensure that all devices are working accordingly.
Our evaluation process is completed within 30 days from the initial intake appointment to the feedback session. Barring any delays in scheduling, receiving rating forms, or contact with collateral sources, trainees are expected to adhere to the 30 day turnaround time. As such, reports are to be completed within 14 days from the last date of testing. This allows time for the supervisor to make edits and provide feedback for the fellow to make corrections prior to the feedback/results session with clients. Should evaluations take longer than this period, it is important to email their supervisor as soon as possible to provide an update and request assistance.
Schedule
Our hours of operation are Mondays and Thursdays 8:00am to 3:00pm and Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9:00am to 4:00pm. We are closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Trainees are expected to work a total of 15-16 hours per week depending on their program level, expectations, and requirements. For testing trainees, Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday is devoted to in-person testing. Monday & Friday is for report writing, which may be performed remotely. Thursdays are supervision days.
Trainees are allowed to extend their workdays by 1-2 hours should they want to utilize Fridays as an off-day. However, this may be done so while adhering to the aforementioned weekly hour requirement.
Vacation and time off is permitted with 30 days advance notice, following the initial 90-day probationary period. Taking time off without prior authorization is considered a no-call/no-show and will count against your total hours and be subject to disciplinary action.
Student trainees are required to submit a copy of their preferred schedule with hours allocated toward required tasks prior to beginning their practicum at Magnolia Wellness. Of the 15-16 hours per week, 8 are spent in direct client contact , 6 are for administrative tasks and marketing activities such as progress notes, case management, and content creation, and 2 hours for supervision. An example of hours allocation is as follows:
Monday 8:00a-10:00 a - initial intake appointments; 10:00a-12:00p creating blog content; 12:00-1:00p Lunch; 1:00p-2:00p client progress planning, 2:00p -3:00p counseling appointment
All 15-16 hours should be allocated and accounted for and will be reviewed prior to starting. All hours will be recorded in and verified using Clockify or Time2Track.

Supervision Requirements
Trainees receive 1 hour of group supervision and 1 hour of individual supervision per week with a currently licensed psychologist. If the program requires an additional supervision hour, this will be discussed at the initial introduction and meeting prior to the trainee’s start date. The supervisor and trainee will enter into a written supervision contract that will be signed prior to the start of the externship/internship. The contract shall specify work experience goals, the content of work involved, and the criteria for successfully completing work and offering/receiving feedback. Following successful completion of the externship/internship, the supervisor shall attest to the adequacy of the trainee’s applied experience and supervision.

Logging Hours
As mentioned previously, trainees will log their weekly activities into Clockify/Time2Track and have it approved and co-signed by the Trainee and their supervisor. The log will be reviewed during supervision and shall include:
The professional activities, tasks, or work performed during that week.
The number of hours worked during that week.
The number of hours of client/patient involvement during that week.
The number of hours of individual supervision during that week.
Professional Development & Content Creation
Trainees will complete content deliverables each month they are assigned to Magnolia Wellness in a schedule as follows:
Create and present one webinar per month about a specific concern or “need to know area” regarding Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, or testing/evaluations.
In their final month, write a “white paper” report, which involves a deeply researched report on a specific topic that presents a solution to a problem within an industry.
Applicant Qualifications
Applicants for the practicum program should be enrolled in a doctoral degree-seeking program in clinical, counseling, or school psychology. The graduate program must be from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited or ASPPB/National Register designated program.
Previous psychological assessment experience with children and adults is appreciated but not required. Prior knowledge and experience of Autism, ADHD, and Learning Disabilities is a plus. Successful applicants will also have excellent writing skills, the ability to quickly learn and integrate new tests into their repertoire, the ability to work independently, and a motivation to strive for excellence in clinical provision and customer care.
